in South Africa was made possible by an artist in residency grant
by The
Fordsburg Artists Studios.
«
The Memory House »
workshop was a collaboration with the Trauma Clinic from the CSVR
- Centre for Study
of Violence and Reconciliation and it was founded by
UNHCR/ South Africa -United Nation High Commission for Refugees.
During the workshop the children got assistance from Helen Hajiyannis
and Gloria Hlope from the Trauma Clinic and the South African
artists Tamar Mason and Pierre Koen.
Children:
Adilson, Francisco, Maria, Luzia, Gilcea, Kim, Kevin, Olga, Gerd,
Eunice, John, Sarah, Diana, Merveille, Miriam and Linda.
My
initial involvement with the refugee community in Johannesburg
was made possible by the Jesuit
Refugee Service where I’ve worked as a volunteer during
my stay in South Africa.

Patrick Pichot and Marie Dominique Aguillon.
