« Displacements » is a multidisciplinary project focusing on the experiences of refugees living in different situations. Through creative workshops and collaborations the project aims to develop work with refugees and not about refugees as well as establishing sustainable creative structures that can benefit their communities.

Workshops provide participants with access to creative media,
including photography, writing, video, and sound. Through art
the project hopes to engage its participants as individuals in a civic process, as well as empowering them through self-expression and the validation of their personal stories. By creating meaningful art
products to be shown to local and international audiences we intent
to raise awareness about the situation of refugees.

The project was launched in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2001,
and then proceeded  to Paris, France in 2002 and Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya in 2003. The goal for 2004 is to set up an international traveling exhibition gathering all the materials created
within the different communities.
